Regional Manager, Distribution Centre Career Opportunity

Ashley Furniture HomeStore is currently seeking a Regional Manager for our Distribution Centre in Mississauga located at 333 Matheson Boulevard West.

As a Regional Manager, Distribution Centre you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the functional areas of Transportation, Distribution and Furniture Repair in the Company’s Regional Distribution Centre and assigned Branch operations, through planning, organizing and directing initiatives and staff.

As the Regional Manager, Distribution Centre you will:

  • Ensure execution of a system that ensures timely and accurate fulfilment and distribution of customer’s orders within the Region.
  • Ensure that team members are adequately inspired, resourced, equipped, focused and trained to accomplish their mission in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Create a culture of “One Team, One Mission’ in the Distribution Centre and its branch locations.
  • Overall responsibility for DTR staffing and workflow planning.
  • Work with store operations to effectively integrate work that impacts the customer experience
  • The deployment of resources to optimize delivery and repair activities.
  • Oversee product flow through the Distribution Centre and its branch locations up to and including delivery at customer’s residence.
  • Ensure the timely repair of furniture through the effective utilization of “In Home Specialists” and “In Shop Technicians”.
  • All costs associated with RDC operations through the preparation of annual budgets and the administration and control over all expenses.
  • Establish, monitor and maintain metrics for all Distribution Centre and Repair activities.
  • Manage 3rd party service arrangements
  • Facilities maintenance and management.
  • Understand and follow all safe work practices and rules

As a successful candidate you will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on business or materials management plus four or more years experience working in a warehouse and transportation or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of senior management experience in warehouse/transportation environment.
  • An exposure to furniture repair activities a distinct advantage.
  • Well organized with ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to problem solve
  • Demonstrated track record of exceptional people skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs
