Programmer Analyst (Contract position to August 31, 2018) Does the opportunity to join our Learning Technology Support Services team align with your professional goals? Do you have what it takes to develop and support Student Information System (SIS) software? If so, bring your technical expertise to the Peel District School Board. Reporting to the Team Leader, SIS Development, and using your knowledge of emerging technologies, trends and directions, you’ll enhance existing applications, troubleshoot, fix bugs, analyse and propose recommended solutions, provide estimates for assigned work, as well as analyse and estimate feasibility, time, and compatibility with other programs. It will also be your responsibility, as a Programmer Analyst, to ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved, while promoting adherence to departmental standards for all phases of design and development, including the creation of web parts. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Your university degree or college diploma in Computer Science or an applicable IT-related field will serve as a solid foundation for your work as a Programmer Analyst. The following experience and skill set will also be put to good use: 3 to 5 years’ experience with Oracle DBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, Internet Information Services, JavaScript, HTML, XML/XHTML, J2EE, Servlets/Applets, ASP, Acrobat Writer, and Oracle-Web interface Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with Board personnel Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment. In addition, experience in the following areas would be considered an asset: SIS software PL/SQL Developer, Linux, Advanced Crystal Reports, and TOAD Database design.
