We are seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team! You will directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving food.

Position title: Assistant Kitchen Manager

Supervisor: Kitchen Manager, General Manager

1. Purpose of job:

· To effectively supervise all components of BOH to ensure the highest standards are being met at all times

· Keep chit times at expected levels, motivate staff, ensure all food is plated as per specs and manage labour

· Perform all your regular duties as cooks with the addition of the list below

2. Major areas of Accountability:

· Oversee kitchen staff

· Train staff in accordance with standards set out

· Hold staff accountable to do their jobs. Coaching if needed

· Control labour with set guidelines

· Ensure trainees are being watched/trained properly by trainers

· Suggest re-training for weaker staff

· Ensure all staff show a sense of urgency to get orders out

· Ensure proper staffing levels over entire shift

· Report any discipline suggestions to Supervisors

· Enforcing policies (smoke breaks, cell phones, sections, etc.)

· Health Department policies enforced

· Ensure all checklists are being followed

· Placing orders from suppliers

· Assign all staff their positions per their training levels

· Food inventory control including OC

· All tasks as assigned by Kitchen Manager
