Automotive Product Sales Representative

This is a Contract position in Peel region, ON posted September 14, 2017.

Do you have strong sales aptitudes and are passionate about the automotive aftermarket industry? The Automotive Product Sales Representative will be responsible for driving business development activities by increasing the sales of our products and services to support profitable sales at the automotive service and repair level. The incumbents are results oriented, optimistic and recognized for their leadership, product expertise, and commitment to providing business solutions to meet customer needs. The incumbents will bring new thinking and momentum to build current and new customer relationships that generate sales growth within 6-12 months.

  • Creates and build customer relationships while focusing on strategic areas for profitable product line growth;
  • Increases loyalty by actively listening and probing to build a clear, accurate and complete picture of what customers require to improve product mix, competitiveness and profitability;
  • Builds and maintain vendor product expertise and knowledge of product lines sold;
  • Provides ‘features and benefits’ training for vendor products;
  • Defines profitability objectives by determining customers’ needs, potential volumes, trends using in-house data reports;
  • Identifies growth leverage opportunities, knows the competition’s strategies and has a sound vision of customers satisfaction and product needs.
  • Gathers relevant market information including pricing insights and changeover opportunities;
  • Keeps abreast of any significant business changes and opportunities for growth;
  • Updates territory pipeline (CRM) weekly to plan, schedule and report on day-to-day activities with customers and leads ;
  • Initiates and maintains open communication channels with fellow sales team members, vendors, as well as marketing and product head office teammates
  • Works directly with USI distribution centers for product returns;
  • Represents vendors at member trade shows and conventions organized by Uni-Select;
  • Provides feedback to the corporate level regarding program improvements;
  • Plans and coordinates various presentations;


  • 3 – 5 years experience in aftermarket automotive sales, product offerings, business development, account management or automotive repairs;
  • University degree or College diploma in Commerce, marketing, automotive program or the equivalent;
  • Ability to communicate and work well with all levels within an organization;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint along with an aptitude for technology;
  • Autonomous and good sense of initiative and organization;
  • Strong team player;
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills including strong written and verbal communication in complex selling scenarios with a desire to find solutions that meet the customer’s needs;
  • Able to adapt quickly to change;
  • Capacity to work under pressure and respond to customer requirements;
  • Willingness to travel extensively;
  • Candidate must be a self starter and possess drive and embrace innovation.
