The Intermediate Accountant assists the manager and AVP periodically for ad hoc reports.Success of this position ensures 1) the compliance with sales tax regulation 2) the accurate journal entry with proper audit support prepared in the efficient manner to meet the financial periodic close.Key Responsibilities* Be the point of contact for sales tax related matters, including monthly filing and liaise with 3rd party sales tax consultant.* Prepare various monthly GL reconciliations.* Prepare monthly system internal control test sample documents.* Prepare monthly journal entries and upload.* Prepare return reserve and analysis / Assist AVP for allowance for bad debt reserve preparation.* Assist Accounts Payable for wire clearing. Qualifications* Proven experience in full-cycle accounting (2+ years work experience).* Experience with sales tax return filing.* Intermediate to advanced skill in excel (knowledge in Power query is a plus).* Strong written and verbal communication.* Must be detail-oriented.* Analytical thinker with an inquisitive mind.* Excellent problem-solving skills.* Self-starter and team player.* Willingness to learn new things.* Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to prioritize the tasks to meet various reporting deadlines.* Must be flexible and adaptable.* Working knowledge of SAP is an asset.* Professional designation or working towards CPA or equivalent is an asset.Work Conditions* Extended periods of sitting.* Hybrid working environment.* Overtime may be required to meet reporting deadlines and month-end requirements. Accessibility and Diversity StatementSharp Electronics of Canada Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
