Job Description

What you’ll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s Retail Mortgages Services team, you’ll work in a fast-paced back-office operational environment where you’ll make a meaningful difference in our clients’ lives. As a Quality Assurance Officer, you’ll be accountable for providing professional and timely support by performing routine and complex spot-checks, independent testing, tracking, and documenting detailed findings of work for various Line of Business and governance processes. Use independent assessments to ensure staff are following standard procedures and guidelines to complete work activities and escalate issues to Supervisors/Managers within the work unit. Complete testing to support reporting requirements. You’ll make sure client satisfaction and productivity standards are achieved and Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met or exceeded by following well-defined procedures and guidelines and escalating issues as appropriate. You’re flexible to work our processing centre hours which may include evenings and weekends.

How you’ll succeed

  • Analysis – Conduct spot-checks and independent testing of completed work within each department to ensure adherence to compliance standards of policies, procedures, and processes are being met.
  • Risk and governance – Adhere to all risk and governance standards by completing all required documentation thoroughly and ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed. Document detailed findings including compliant and non-compliant issues to reflect results of department and support reporting requirements of the business
  • Collaboration Maintain regular contact with internal CIBC employees, teams, and departments in order to gather sample testing and information. Engage with internal CIBC Supervisors and Managers to deliver completed reports, escalate errors, and answer questions as needed
  • Teamwork – Work closely with your team to deliver a great customer experience. Ensure that your team’s collective work meets quality standards, deadlines, and service level agreements
  • Problem solving – Identify and resolve items of discrepancy and follow up on process problems within area of responsibility using independent judgement based on standard work procedures. Act like an owner by taking accountability for issues, and know when to lean on others to build a better solution together.
  • Organizational skills – Complete workload and meet variety of deadlines (i.e daily, bi-weekly, monthly). This may involve coordinating work with others in the team, accommodating a few variables/factors to organize work. Monitor workflow to ensure priority is given to unresolved matters that cause backlog or delays in process flow.
  • Communication – Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner. Respond to questions and provide guidance.
