Pharmacist- Temporary- North BC

Position: Pharmacist

Location: North British Columbia

Job Type: Temporary (Maternity Leave)

Our client is looking for a Pharmacist to fill a temporary full-time position in the North BC. If you are seeking a stable and consistent work environment with a good pay, then this is the position for you! Travel and accommodations will be covered for the duration of this work assignment.

You are expected to be detail oriented to support a high professional team to operate day to day operations, and to make a positive impact to the organization. In this role you will be accountable to provide superior patient care, recommend clients on the use and effects of pharmaceutical drugs, and ensure the accuracy of prescriptions.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to measure, and mix the quantities of prescribed drugs and other ingredients require; filling the appropriate containers with the correct quantity as needed.
  • Supervise the work of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in training.
  • Give flu shots and other vaccinations following proper procedure.
  • Counsel patients on prescription medications and OTC products
  • Input prescription information into the required pharmacy database to maintain sufficient inventory.
  • Maintain the work environment safe following company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist Pharmacy Manager to achieve company goals.
  • Provide a professional and confidential environment for all customers .

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a pharmacy
  • BC College License required
  • Experience with using Kroll computer system will an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skill
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, prevent, and resolve drug related problems
  • Ability to work independently and within in a team
