Laser Programmer/nester

Savaria Concord Lifts Inc.

This is a Contract position in Mississauga, ON posted September 7, 2021.

Savaria Better Mobility for Life LASER PROGRAMMER/NESTER Savaria designs, engineers and manufactures products to help people gain personal mobility.

We make a range of accessibility lifts and wheelchair accessible vans.

We also produce elevators
– from basic to luxurious
– for select commercial applications and for home use.

7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m.

Monday to Friday, some overtime required.

We are currently seeking a experienced Laser Programmer/Nester to work in our sheet metal department.

This is an exciting opportunity available, permanent full time/day position, with medical/vision/dental benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities: Meet required production schedules while promoting safety, quality, teamwork, lean manufacturing, and sound environmental practices Understand and adjust parameters to optimize nesting results for lasers
– cut time, material utilization Develop nesting techniques and strategies to optimize material flow and reduce errors and scrap rate Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments to ensure priorities are communicated and issues are addressed systematically to prevent recurrence.

Be able to prepare and organize documentation for fabrication tea Complete all necessary area communications for all production shifts through issuance of clear schedules to fabrication department (Laser, Brakes, Punches, etc.) Communication and track customer emergencies (hot parts) Assist with Ordering/Managing Consumables Assist with Ordering/Managing Raw Steel Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments to ensure priorities are communicated and issues are addressed systematically to prevent recurrence.

Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production.

Perform parts nesting, load and set up programs from shop drawings with minimal supervision or independently.

Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education: 1-2 Years Solid Works experience.

Auto CAD experience is an asset but not required.

1-2 Years experience using a Sheet metal programming software.

High School Diploma/college/trade school/ and 3-5 years experience working in manufacturing environment.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills: intermediate-advanced Other Skills and Abilities: Should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $30.00 per hour
