Vehicles are rapidly becoming one of the world’s most complex endpoints. The convergence of mobile communications, computing, and propulsion has created an endpoint capable of producing large amounts of data and insights to power new experiences for end customers. 

BlackBerry IVY, our intelligent vehicle data platform, allows automakers to bring new digital services to market faster in a cost-effective way.  BlackBerry IVY, co-developed with Amazon Web Services, generates insights from vehicle data on the edge and is controlled in the cloud, enabling a broad ecosystem of partners to deliver value on vehicle data at scale.

Our team is looking for a Software Developer II. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a diverse cross functional team focused on BlackBerry IVY design and development.


  • Develop new software for automotive and enterprise use cases
  • Collaborate with other team members, receiving and providing feedback on software design, implementation, code reviews, and documentation
  • Work in a cross-functional team of experts, including other development, test, and customer support teams, who are responsible for BlackBerry IVY


  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline at the intermediate level
  • Strong design, and programming skills
  • 3+ years programming experience in C++
  • Experience with one or more of: Linux, QNX, Android, Gerrit/Git, JIRA, Chrome, Confluence, and Agile Scrum
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Curious attitude and self-starter with strong interpersonal and innovative skills
  • Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with excellent time management and organization skills


  • Programming skills in Python
  • Knowledge of (or interest in) automotive, IoT, machine learning, cloud computing, and security
  • Previous experience with AWS, Docker, Thrift
  • Experienced with GIT, Make/CMake, CI/CD pipeline
