This position will work mainly on assembling office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.). No previous experience is necessary, as we’ll provide on-the-job training. The successful candidate will work in a shop/warehouse environment. Physical capability is essential as the work requires frequent walking/standing/bending/twisting and lifting things.Qualifications* Communication/Interpersonal Skills – To grow positive working relationships with colleagues across many departments at Sharp.* Capability to lift heavy objects of various shapes and sizes, in various positions over extended periods of time. Some items that require manual lifting can be up to 50 pounds.* Attention to detail – pay close attention to the task at hand to ensure no steps are skipped and that machines are fully functional upon completion of setup.* Ability to use precision tools on small items in tight spaces.* Effective Time Management and acute awareness of deadlines. Can prioritize tasks and stay organized under pressure.* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.* Ability to count quickly and perform basic mathematics for inventory purposes. * Computer Literacy/Record keeping- Basic Computer and Microsoft Office skills are an asset. Various inventory sheets are to be kept up to date and daily workflow requires familiarity with Microsoft Office and other software.* Mechanical/Electrical/Technical aptitude is an asset, to minimize the need for outside assistance in troubleshooting.* Willingness to learn.* Ability to use various kinds of pump trucks and manual forklifts (training will be provided).* A police background check is required for this position.Responsibilities* Assemble, configure, test and stage brand new Multi-Functional Printers (MFP) and Desktop Printers using available equipment (Straddle Stacker, Pump Truck), tools (Screwdrivers, Pliers, Cutting Tools, etc..) and supplies (Cleaners, Shrink Wrap, Tape, etc..).* Follow setup, calibration, and pre-flight checklists. Suggest improvements if discovered.* Be readily accessible to answer phone/email throughout the day to stay informed about shifting priorities.* Clean, maintain and continually improve workspace.* Maintain spreadsheets/physically check stock to keep accurate record of various Configure to Order (CTO) equipment types.* Work with Admin/Service teams to assess month end workload and prioritize.* Work with Service Managers to arrange for technician assistance when busy (usually last week of the month)* Work with Logistics/Admin teams to communicate any inbound/outbound equipment and ensure it is properly accounted for.* Document any challenges/resolutions and share with Service/Admin/Logistics teams for future reference.* Once trained, work with field technicians that have minimal setup experience and teach/refresh knowledge on how to assemble machines. (Warehouse Technician and Field Technician are different, but overlapping skillsets)* Work with Service team to create/maintain/constantly improve clone/backup/firmware files for new models to optimize operation.* Perform factory-led rework procedures to remedy known issues.* Prepare used equipment for redeployment.* Arrange scrap machine parts pick up and waste disposal.Accessibility and Diversity StatementSharp Electronics of Canada Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
