Job Description

The Business Development Executive is accountable to the Senior Manager, Business Development, and will establish new client relationships and build on existing relationships for Alphora’s business offerings with the goals of generating profitable sales and strong client partnerships.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core:

  • Follow Environmental, Health and Safety rules/regulations and report any workplace injuries or accidents immediately.
  • Adhere to the policies and guidelines set out in the Alphora Employee Handbook.
  • Work harmoniously with all fellow employees.
  • Travel between operating facilities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities from sources such as databases, publications, market analysis, trade shows and contacts
  • Contact and build relations with potential or existing clients to determine compatibility between their requirements and Alphora’s capabilities
  • Plan and facilitate initial client visits of the Alphora sites, new program kickoff meetings and post-program review meetings
  • Prepare and deliver new client quotations in collaboration with the Senior Business Quotations Specialist as well as department heads
  • Read, understand and negotiate agreements of sale, CDA/MSA
  • Transition new client to the Project Management and internal teams
  • Input data and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
  • Prepare/update sales activity, quote log and client trip visit reports
  • Contribute to the implementation of marketing initiatives including providing market information, distributing materials and attending tradeshows
  • Develop and maintain a current understanding of Alphora’s capabilities and capacity as well as the unique selling proposition
  • Develop and maintain a current understanding of the external marketplace (e.g. conditions, trends and competitors)
  • Maintain a current knowledge of sales and project management skills and techniques

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: 5-10+ years
• Education: B.Sc.
• Industry Experience: Pharma
• A proven track record of exceeding sales targets
• A proven track record of developing exceptional client relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Persuasive ability
• Confident and outgoing personality
