Truck Parts Counter Person

This is a Full-time position in Mississauga, ON posted August 2, 2018.

The ideal candidate will be performing various responsibilities which include, but not limited to, correct loading of the vehicle, recording of delivery information, accepting/making payment for goods, and ensuring overall vehicle safety at all times. Job Duties:

  • Report to the Truck Parts Manager
  • Maintain parts min / max as per managers instructions
  • Restock mobile service vehicles daily or as required
  • Hand out parts to all shop and mobile mechanics when required and record on work orders
  • Support technicians and service advisors in securing required parts in order to complete work orders
  • Perform parts shipping and receiving duties as required
  • Loading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.)
  • Safeguard inventory against shrinkage
  • Review all work order parts usage
  • Provide counter/phone support for customers and issues on shop floor
  • Replenish assigned inventory daily ensuring no shortage of shock on common items
  • Record all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, credits and special parts orders
  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various products
  • Perform pre-trip inspection of parts vehicles
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Ensure correct loading of vehicle
  • Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered
  • Accept or make payments for goods
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form
  • Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems


  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License
  • Experience in parts/retail environment a definite asset
  • Proficient in MS Office Accurate data entry
  • Clean Driver’s abstract
  • Clear Criminal Background Check
  • Defensive Driving Course an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude an asset
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
