Flexo Press Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Operate flexographic printing presses, with die cutter, for blank and multi colour jobs
• Accurately set up all tooling required and inks and tear down production jobs based on information provided from job specification packets
• Mounting printing plates and some colour matching required
• Remove and dispose of matrix waste rolls from press
• Change out master rolls of paper to the press
• Remove finished rolls of products from press
• Clean up ink trays, anilox rollers and doctor rollers upon completion of printed jobs
• Record all job run times and footage information through the labor tracking system
• Package finished goods into boxes, label and seal in a neat and clean fashion
• Empty garbage and maintain clean and safe work area

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of previous flexographic printing experience
• Technical aptitude and experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to help others on the team as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally, less weight more frequently
• Team lift or use appropriate equipment to move tooling and paper over 50 pounds throughout the day
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, with regular twisting and bending

Following all federal, provincial, local and company-specific safety guidelines as prescribed in the employee handbook and subsequent company safety training. Some minor exposure to hazardous materials such as epoxies, cleaners, etc. may be required as part of this job. Please refer to the material’s specific SDS for proper handling instructions.
