This is a Full-time position in Mississauga, ON posted October 25, 2021.

**Responsibilities:**• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring tools and knowledge to effectively manage people, e.g. performance management, attendance management, discipline, disability claims, compensation, pension and benefit programs.• Manage labour relations, interpretation of Collective Bargaining Agreements, grievance procedure, investigations and arbitrations.• Facilitate timely resolution of all employee/labour relations issues while maintaining an appropriate balance between employee and management advocacy.• Work with line management to identify and resolve HR issues as they arise while promoting positive employee/management relations in carrying out day-to-day HR services and support.• Execute National Policies and programs• Facilitate the recruitment process with hiring managers ensure the organization attracts and retains the best candidates for the positions• Accountable for occupational ad non-occupational disability management program to reduce lost time accidents, and Weekly Indemnity cases.• Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with labour and employment legislation and HR industry developments.• Develop strong partnerships with all levels of internal and external business associates.**Required Skills and Knowledge:**• A self-starter with the ability to take initiative from concept through to implementation• A high sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to proactively identify and prioritize sensitive matters in a fast-paced setting.• Contribute to the design and implementation of HR policies and programs.• Ability to influence: selling and promoting new ideas and pragmatic solutions to stakeholders at all levels • Ability and desire to work effectively as a team. • Proven ability to make tough decisions when required. • Excellent English language communication skills – both oral and written. (French is a definite asset). • Able to learning new technologies quickly • Excellent consulting and leadership skills.**Education and Experience**• 7+ years’ as an HR Generalist with a minimum of 3 years with direct labour relations experience managing in a unionized environment required. Prior exposure to contract negotiation and collective bargaining process an asset. • Previous experience overseeing disability/claims management – both non-occupational and occupational • University degree in related field and formal post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations. • Proven ability to work closely with Management • Strong interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills. • Outstanding time management and organizational skills • CHRL designation, or working towards obtaining.
