Manager, Development Planning

This is a Contract position in Mississauga, ON posted January 23, 2022.

* Manage all aspects of planning approvals and development applications, including but not limited to Site Plan Applications, Plans of Subdivisions, Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By‐law Amendments, Committee of Adjustment and Plans of Condominium Applications.* Manage all aspects of Building Permits and miscellaneous permit applications, as required.* Navigate through and manage the negotiation of development related policy and legal documents.* Build and manage development schedules and budgets.* Provide development support to other internal departments such as project management, construction, finance, sales and marketing.* Manage and liaises with external consultants, municipal staff and other partners as well as internal departments to meet or exceed schedule expectations for development approvals and permits as well as overall project.* Monitor city policies, market trends, and the overall competitive landscape to establish clear development strategies.* Build and maintain positive relationships within the Company and with external partners such as consultants, contractors, municipalities and agencies.* Supervise, develop and mentor internal staff.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or based on an individual’s status in any group or class otherwise protected under applicable human rights legislation. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled and all other qualified applicants* Education background from a University degree program in urban planning, engineering, real estate, architecture or a related‐field;* Minimum of 5 years of previous related experience in municipal planning, residential land development, land use consulting firm, or any other related land use development work;* Excellent knowledge of relevant Planning Legislation and planning theory;* Strong knowledge of development approval process including Zoning By‐Law Amendments, Official Plan Amendments, Site Plan Control, Plans of Condominium and Plans of Subdivision; previous experience with Plans of Condominium approval and Condominium Registration is an asset.* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization with multi‐ disciplinary teams and with external partners such as consultants and municipal staff.* Superior analytical, problem‐solving and decision‐making skills;* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; strong ability to communicate and coordinateeffectively with all internal departments and external parties.A leading Developer in the GTA High Rise market with series of Master-planned projects in development and construction phases.Due to continued growth they are in need of a senior individual from a Planning Development background to help provide leadership in this critical business function.A highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, bonus and opportunity to work on a huge variety of Mixed-use / Residential Development projects.
